John Weber

John Weber holds degrees at Moraine Valley Community College (A.S.), Southern Illinois University (B.S. and M.S.), and Northwestern University (Ph.D. Advisors). He is currently a Professor of Geology at Grand Valley State University (Allendale, MI, USA) where he teaches and conducts research with undergraduate Geology majors. He also teaches summer geology field schools in Red Lodge, MT (USA) and in Baku, Azerbaijan. His research focus is to use GPS satellite data and structural geology, geochronology, and geomorphology techniques to study active and fossil deformation in Trinidad and Tobago, but also in Slovenia and the circum-Adriatic, and in Azerbaijan. In addition, he also studies meteorite impact craters and regularly consults for industry. John was elected as a Geological Society of America Fellow in 2014 and has been an essential contributor to geophysics development in the Caribbean.
