Mark Gibson
Mark Gibson is an international projects manager and applied social scientist specializing in green criminology. He is passionate about addressing the harmful and illegal dimensions of the wildlife trade in the Caribbean and the wider world. Mark holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and an MA in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins SAIS, with a concentration in Environmental Policy and Economics. He is also a graduate of the Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leadership (EWCL) Program.
As the Initiatives Director at SII, Mark is responsible for co-designing, fundraising, and managing multi-year initiatives, including the Nurture Nature Campaign and the Caribbean Wildlife Enforcement Network. Beyond his professional work, Mark is an avid cultural explorer, always seeking new perspectives and often found living as an 'ethical nomad'.
