Nigel Noriega

Nigel Noriega founded Sustainable Innovation Initiatives with the goal of enabling ecologically regenerative societies. An alumnus of St. Mary’s College in Trinidad, he holds a Ph.D. in Integrative Biology from the University of California at Berkeley and a bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of Florida. With two decades of research in ecology, physiology, endocrinology, and neuroscience, his work includes extensive examinations of the environmental impacts on endocrine development in wildlife, including amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals, with fieldwork across the Americas and in Africa. His roles in research include work as a biologist for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and work on primate endocrinology and cognition. Dr. Noriega’s outreach efforts include student mentorship and the construction of citizen science initiatives.
